I do not know what I would have done if not for these bottles. I had originally used the Avent bottles, but they leaked everywhere, ruined a cell phone, and put so much air in my daughter's tummy it was ridiculous. I switched over to these after reading a few reviews, and oh my goodness the change was amazing! My daughter spit up less, didn't have near as much gas, and overall was just a MUCH happier baby. I truly would recommend these to anyone with bottle fed infants. There are a few pieces to it, but they are dish washable, and even if you do them by hand, like I do, it doesn't take long at all.

I spent alot of money trying out new bottles with various different nipples sizes. These are by far the best bottles on the market. I have read the feeback other people left about the bottles leaking and extra cleaning parts, but the bottles perform really well. I have never had a leaking issue with them and cleaning is not a big deal considering what the product delivers. The bottle helps reduce the air and gasiness babies get from regular feeding bottles including the over-rated Playtex drop ins. The Drop ins are too costly and still get air inside them if you set the bottle down.

My child is breastfed and the reason I bought these bottles is because we give him some chamomile tea about once a week to prevent colic and help him sleep(this may be considered another wive's tale, but we NEVER had any problems with him being fussy unless he was hungry AND he almost always sleeps all night at only 4 months!). Sorry to diverge... Anyway, I bought these bottles because they were supposed to prevent gas and we love them. At first he would get strangled because the liquid flowed faster than he was used to, but he adjusted after only two or three tries. I also never had any problems with them leaking. He never had any trouble going from these bottles back to the breast either. I also noticed that he was able to finish a bottle much faster than with other bottles, because the other ones we tried all seemed to produce the "vacuum effect" and he had to try really hard and would fuss and stop eating after only an ounce or two.

As for the paint chipping off and being harder to wash, I have not had to use mine long enough to experience such problems, but that is a very small price to pay for a happy baby!!!

Based upon reviews, I decided to go with Dr. Brown's from the start. We've been very happy with them! A friend had given me some Avent bottles she had never used so I decided to try them & compare. My baby had a terrible tummy ache & had never before burped so much. Those Avents now sit in the back of the cabinet gathering dust.

For folks who complain about leakage....the rare times that has happened to me was when I accidentally added milk past the top marker. Otherwise, I've never had a single problem with any sort of leakage.

Another plus is that they're very easy to clean; I just pop all the pieces into the top rack of the dishwasher (I use a toddler basket to hold some of the smaller pieces).

If you're comparing the wide mouth to the standard, forget the standard! They're a pain to get liquid into (but still good bottles).

I absolutely love this product & would never consider another bottle.

Dr. Brown's bottles are the best! We tried everything else and wasted a lot of time and money... Do not waste your time and buy Dr. Brown's bottles...
